Faculty and staff are encouraged and supported by Holmes to pursue scholarly and creative activities. Faculty have produced a range of outcomes in this area.

Anja Fladrich (2009) has contributed chapters to a book on Chinese International Investments and a paper on "Transition from Education to Employment: Observations by Chinese Young Professionals" in Chinese Cross Currents, Vol. 6.2.

In May 2010, Cedric Spencer presented a paper on 'How the Plain English- and Free Access to Law- movements may have opened up an area of opportunity previously unavailable to most small businesses' at a DBA Symposium, Southern Cross University.

Professor Mike Berrell (2007) published a book with Sterwart Clegg and Karen Wang titled Business Networks and Strategic Alliances in China, Edward Elgar.

Assoc Professor Peter Schmidt (2007) contributed an article on "Cross cultural issues in tourism risk management" to a research book edited by Bruce Prideaux et al, London, CABi.
